«The federalists are getting nervous.
With seven weeks until the October 19 vote, the latest wave of fearmongering is ramping up, from claims about pensions and banking to warnings that Alberta would suddenly lose its trading relationships.
This video breaks down those arguments, looks at the old polling being promoted as new, and explains why an orderly transition to independence would look very different from the chaos being predicted.
October 19 is not the final vote on independence. Option 2 gives Alberta the opportunity to seriously examine independence, develop a transition plan, negotiate with Ottawa and other governments, and decide whether there is a better path forward.
