«Alberta independence now has a detailed transition plan.

Led by Keith Wilson, KC and Dennis Kalma, with contributions from more than 40 subject matter experts, the Alberta Transition Council has released the Alberta Transition Plan outlining the practical steps required for Alberta to transition from a province to an independent country.

The plan draws on expertise across banking and currency, international trade, policing, courts, constitutional law, pensions, First Nations, military affairs, immigration and other critical areas.

This video addresses some of the biggest questions surrounding Alberta independence, including pensions, banking, mortgages, citizenship, trade, government services and negotiations with the rest of Canada.

The central takeaway is simple: Alberta would not be starting from scratch. The people, infrastructure, institutions and services Albertans rely on already exist. With careful planning, the transition can be orderly, practical and seamless.

The plan is here. Now Albertans can read it and decide for themselves.
