Video | The Case for Alberta Independence Just Got Stronger by Keith Wilson K.C. | Constitutional Lawyer

by Keith Wilson K.C. | Constitutional Lawyer

«Canada’s premiers are threatening retaliation against the United States, but the economic leverage they want to use belongs to Alberta.

Alberta’s energy keeps major parts of the Canadian economy moving. More than 90 percent of Canadian oil exports to the United States come from Alberta, while pipelines carrying Alberta energy supply refineries and economies across British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec.

That reality reveals the position Alberta would hold during independence negotiations. An independent Alberta would be able to negotiate directly with the United States, protect its energy industry, keep more of its wealth at home and move critical decision-making from Ottawa back to Alberta.

This video also covers the success of the independence telethon, the expanding Let Alberta Decide campaign and the formal complaint filed over Elections Alberta’s apparent failure to enforce the same rules against Forever Canadian.

October 19 presents a clear choice: accept the status quo or vote Option 2 because Alberta can do better.
