«Over the last couple of days, there’s been some unexpected news involving a newly arrived independence group and a dispute with Elections Alberta. When the story first broke, a lot of people reacted with frustration — and I felt that too. It was easy to worry this might derail momentum or distract from the work so many have been putting in.
But after stepping back, talking to others, and taking a breath, something became clear: none of us can control every headline or every controversy. What we can control is the work we’ve been building for nearly a year — the conversations, the organizing, the community, and the steady growth that didn’t even exist for many people this time last year.
