"This morning, the usual anti‑Alberta‑autonomy crowd was celebrating an Angus Reid poll claiming fewer than 30% of Albertans support independence. That poll surveyed fewer than 1,000 people online.
Meanwhile, another online poll shows 57% support.
Two polls. Two completely different results. Both being used as “proof.”
My take: ignore them.
There is one number that actually matters—67%.
That’s the real, certified percentage of Albertans who voted to express their frustration with Alberta’s place in Canada. That number didn’t come from an online survey. It came from ballots cast.
I’m out talking to people every day, and the momentum is real. The independence conversation is growing, no matter what the background noise tries to claim."
