"I missed out on tickets to the Rebel News Independence Tour in Calgary… and I’m surprisingly okay with it.
I procrastinated, the event sold out, and at first I was kicking myself. But after thinking about it, I realized I wasn’t actually disappointed. I love Rebel News, I respect the speakers, and I genuinely enjoy the people who show up to these events. The energy is real, the passion is real, and the community is real.
But for me, these tours don’t quite accomplish what they’re meant to. They’re great for motivation and morale, but they don’t translate into the kind of practical steps, strategy, or organization that the independence conversation actually needs right now.
In this video, I talk about why I feel that way, what these events do offer, and why I think we need to rethink how we share the message of Alberta independence if we want to see real progress."
